New Bank Account for Emergency Fund

A new bank account has been opened on February 7, 2017 with an aim to provide our beneficiaries with an emergency aid if the need arises. In recent times we have seen our beneficiaries, having been coming from extremely challenging financial backgrounds, are facing financial hazards due to many family and health related problems for which they require immediate financial aid. To address such an issue previously we had raised funds through email and social media, but to find a long term solution Srijan Sujan has made the  decision of building an emergency fund.

Meet our latest beneficiary for 2016 - Banashri Karmakar

Sumit Mandal, one of our members, was the first to recommend Banashri Karmakar's name for the Srijan Sujan Academic Award programme. Banashri hails from the village of Bhadiswar in Birbhum district. Fighting against adverse circumstances Banashri stood first in her school in both Madhyamik as well as the Higher Secondary examinations. Having met Banashri personally Sumit strongly recommended her case and Banashri was added as the latest beneficiary for 2016. You can follow her story here.

Ranjit Das - A story worth sharing

Ranjit Das's story is one of sheer grit and determination. In the face of abject poverty and surviving mostly on one meal a day Ranjit cleared his H.S examinations and is currently studying Geography in the University B.T & Evening College in Cooch Behar. Again one of our members, Jibesh Saha from Cooch Behar, met Ranjit and his parents, and recommended his name. Ranjit is one of our new beneficiary friends for 2016 and we are proud to support him in his quest for higher education. Know more about Ranjit here.
